Not only was Steve Morrison (Jim’s father) a captain of a ship (Bon Homme Richard) he was in charge of the entire task force off of Vietnam, so all the faked intelligence and reports of VC attacks on the navy that were later used by Johnson to rationalize escalation had to come through Morrison’s father. Have you read The Doors Examined? Got some good reviews.
